This mould ripened cheese is made from goat milk, enriched with cow’s cream. The result is a flavourful soft cheese, with a buttery, mousse like texture when young which develops to a softer, richer cheese as it matures. The blend of milk makes Cremet more delicate than a similarly ripened goat cheese and highlights the skill and subtlety of artisan cheese making.
In 2013 Sharpham Cremet won Gold at the Global and British Cheese Awards as well as Taste of the West. It picked up regional awards for ‘Best Soft Cheese’ and ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Best Speciality Cheese’. V G
